The QR code at the door
What gets scanned, why a screenshot is fine and what “already scanned” means.
At the door, the team scans your ticket’s QR code. It contains only your ticket ID. The same code is in the ticket email, in the app under Tickets and on the wallet pass. It doesn’t matter which one you show.
What works well
- Brightness up, night mode off. A dim screen is the most common reason a scan fails.
- A screenshot is fine. The code never changes. A screenshot saves data and battery, and there’s often no signal in the club.
- Wallet is the most convenient: the pass appears on your lock screen. See Ticket in Apple or Google Wallet.
The scanner works offline too
The door team can scan without a connection and syncs later. Your ticket is used up on the first scan; a second scan of the same code is reported as “already scanned”.
“Already scanned” but you weren’t inside yet
Then your code has been used before, for example because you forwarded or posted it. Treat the QR code like cash: don’t share it, don’t show it on social media. Talk to the team at the door; they can check the ticket ID.
Name on the ticket
The ticket shows the name from the purchase. ID checks are up to the organizer and unusual at most events.
