Cancelling a ticket or getting a refund
There is no right of withdrawal for event tickets. What is still possible, and who decides.
The rule
Tickets for events on a fixed date are exempt from the statutory right of withdrawal (§ 312g (2) no. 9 BGB). So a ticket can’t simply be “returned” if you can’t make it. Details under Right of withdrawal.
What is still possible
- The event is cancelled or substantially rescheduled. You get the full amount back, including the booking fee. See Event cancelled.
- Goodwill of the organizer. The organizer is the seller and can refund a ticket if they choose to. Ask them directly, ideally early, with event name and ticket ID.
- Resale. The in-app ticket marketplace is currently unavailable. See Reselling a ticket.
How a refund works
The organizer triggers it in the app. The ticket becomes invalid immediately and the amount goes back to the payment method you used. For card payments the credit takes 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank.
Bought the wrong ticket
Two tickets instead of one, wrong day: contact the organizer right away. As long as the event hasn’t taken place, a correction is usually straightforward.
