Joining a collective

You join collectives by invitation. An admin of the collective invites you via your email address.

You already have an account

The invitation appears in the app, with a push notification “Invitation to collective” if push is on. Open the Collectives area and accept or decline. There is no email link in this case.

You don’t have an account yet

You receive an invitation email with the subject “Du bist bei Let’s Rave eingeladen”. It contains no link but a six-digit code for your first sign-in. You don’t need a password. Open the app, enter the invited email address on the sign-in screen, tap Send code and type in the code. If another email with a new code arrives, the most recent one counts. The invitation is then automatically matched to your new account.

The code is valid for 10 minutes. Every later sign-in works the same way, with a new code by email; see Sign-in code not arriving.

After joining

• You see the collective under Collectives and you’re in the chat.
• You don’t need to keep a key for the chat. Collective chats are not end-to-end encrypted; see The recovery key no longer exists.

“No matching invitation found”

The invitation went to a different email address than your account’s, or it was withdrawn. Ask the admin to invite you again at the right address.

Finding a collective without an invitation

In the Collectives area you can browse collectives and send a join request. The admins decide whether to accept it.
